A family owned business, which is well known for supplying touring caravans throughout Western and Central Scotland, Halleys Burnhouse Caravans came into being as a company in 1948. The business was started by one of our current director's grandfathers after purchasing three caravans, one of which he decided to retail.

Now in our Diamond Anniversary year 75 years later, the business is located in the pleasant North Ayrshire countryside and the small village of Burnhouse, where we have been established since 1985. Centrally located between Ayr and Glasgow, a thirty minute drive either way, Burnhouse is a great choice when thinking about your next caravan, servicing needs or accessories. Our current team at Burnhouse have a wealth of knowledge regarding all aspects of the touring caravan industry, its associated products and are ready to answer any enquiries you may have or advise you on any potential purchase, be it a brand new tourer or which kind of toilet chemicals to use once you've bought one.

New sales are represented by one of the most popular brands in the UK, Swift. For the 2024 season, we are still able to supply the entire Swift range though limit on-site stock to the popular Basecamp, Sprite and Challenger ranges, all award-winning ranges.

The Sprite range has a huge range of layouts, weights and price points to suit every current or potential caravanner and represent great value for money without compromise on comfort and specification. From 2018 this expanded, in a literal sense, to include 8ft-wide tourers to allow even greater practicality and living space with the addition of the single-axle Super Major 4 SB in 2020, a widened version of the popular standard width Major 4 SB. Last year after 3 years of the minor specification changes, the entire range saw a full refresh with brand new exterior decals, black patterned gas locker door, interior 'Blue Moon' upholstery and lightened wood veneers as well as a DAB and Bluetooth enabled stereo for music streaming and induction based microwave oven.

'Super' has also been replaced with 'Grande' across the model range to denote the 8-foot wide models.

The Basecamp range, has a style of it's own and still after 7 model years in production a striking, unique sight on the UK's roads. For 2023, the entire range received a similar treatment to Sprite, getting a massive exterior graphics change and upholstery changes inside along with the reintroduction of Swift's Command system for remote operation and monitoring of the tourer's systems. There's also the standard Basecamp specification including, exterior points, including a BBQ, 230v and a shower point for rinsing muddy boots or bicycles, a new for 2023 flat, 100w solar panel on the roof and more. For 2023 this further expanded with the addition of the 3-berth Basecamp 3 model with fold-away bed at the front to aid in comfort while experiencing the great outdoors! And for 2024, the Swift Command panel has been updated with a higher resolution, more refined display.

Finally the Challenger range represents a luxurious way to tour and builds on reputation established over decades of a balance of specification and value for money. 2023's 'SE' specification has now become standard across the range and includes options such as ALKO Secure Wheel Locks (two on twin-axle tourers), ALKO Side-lift Jack and jacking points, exterior TV/12v point, omni-vent extractor fan, extra access doors for models with a centrally mounted rear island bed such as the 560 and much more. This is a further boost to the already generous standard Challenger specification, which includes a roof mounted 100w solar panel, remote alarm system, ALDE heating system and more. For 2023, there's also the addition of a touchscreen panel for certain caravan operations above the entrance door.

All three ranges are built using Swift's 'SMART+' construction methods, eliminating timber from the structure and incorporating balanced GRP panels, hail-resistant roof and a woven underside to build a strong, dependable tourer backed by a full 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

We also have a wide range of warranted, approved used caravans from a variety of manufacturers including Swift, Sprite, Sterling, Bailey, Lunar, Elddis, Coachman and more. Our NCC Approved Workshop is staffed by factory trained and qualified technicians, who can carry out annual servicing, maintenance and a variety of specialist repairs and insurance work. The Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) was formed on a tripartite basis between the NCC, The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club and we adhere to the standards set out by the scheme, supplying standardised servicing documentation with each service to guide you through the various aspects of the work that's been completed and the points checked on your caravan or motorhome's (NCC approved manufacturers only) habitation.
